T. P. Sen Kumar, IPS: Profile, Family, Wife and Caste

T. P. Sen Kumar is one of the most distinguished and honest police officers in the history of Kerala. He is widely regarded as an officer who gave positive meaning to policing and upholds the cardinal principles of natural justice. He was unjustifiably removed from the post of Director General of Police – DGP – by LDF Government. Fortunately, the Supreme Court of India gave proper heeding to his cause and ordered the Kerala Government to reinstate him. He retired from the service with his head high.

The case of reinstatement of T. P. Sen Kumar will go down in the administrative history of India as a bright case which should dissuade other state governments to punish police officers and civil servants without any valid reasons.

T. P. Sen Kumar took an interesting stand on Sabarimala controversy. He advised the Kerala Government to concentrate on rebuilding lives of people affected by Kerala flood rather than going over the board for Sabarimala issue - build homes rather than building walls of women. He had also taken part in a peaceful protest by Ayappa devotees.

Profile of T. P. Sen Kumar

T. P. Sen Kumar was born on 10th June, 1957 in Thrissur, Kerala. He completed schooling from Thrissur and later took admission in the prestigious Christ College, Irinjalakuda. He is a highly education person who holds degree in Law and PG in Economics. After completing P.G. he appeared in the Indian Economic Services Examination and cracked it in the very first attempt. During that very time, he was also writing a thesis on road accidents in Kerala. While researching about road accidents, he developed interests in the law and order issues and decided to become a police officer. In the very next year – 1982 – he appeared in the UPSC Civil Services Examination and cracked it. His rank was well enough to get him IAS, but he decided to become an IPS officer (which was his first choice among services). Fortunately, he also got his home state cadre.

T. P. Sen Kumar started his career as Assistant Superintendent of Police in Kannur. Since then there is no looking back for him. He has always remained a highly efficient officer and credited with solving many cases apart from ensuring safety and providing a sense of security to general public. When he became DGP, he was little bit criticized for initial handling of Jisha rape and murder case. The police took little bit more time to crack the case. The LDF Government took this high profile case as an excuse to remove him. It is, in fact, quite outrageous that a DGP is being punished for delayed results in a case.

Family of T. P. Sen Kumar

T. P. Sen Kumar belongs to Ezhava family of Kadukutti. His wife and children lives in Kochi.

It is believed that T. P. Sen Kumar will officially join BJP before 2019 Lok Sabha Election. He may also fight the next General Election.

T. P. Sen Kumar and Nambi Narayan

There is also a serious blot on a rather glorious career of T. P. Sen Kumar. He is accused in fake espionage case of Nambi Narayan. He is accused No. 7. Now, the truth is completely out, it can be taken for granted that Sen Kumar had worked to thwart India's cryogenic moment along with some police officers and Congress politicians.
